Professor
NTNU
Gabriele Lobaccaro is Professor in Solar Design and Building Performance Simulation at Norwegian University of Science and Technology - NTNU, Dept. of Civil and Environmental Engineering, Faculty of Engineering. Trained as a building engineer and architect, Gabriele’s technical expertise covers, among others: solar energy systems modeling and their integration at the building and neighborhood level, urban energy planning, climate-based solutions, mitigation and adaptation strategies, microclimate and energy analyses, daylighting, resilient and smart cities, and parametric modelling. Gabriele is an emerging researcher in the field of solar energy in the built environment, and he is contributing to advancing the state-of-the-art of solar neighbourhood archetypes, approaches, methods, and tools to boost the massive adoption of solar energy systems in complex urban environments.
