Dr Monia Del Pinto is a Lecturer in Sustainable and Resilient Urbanism in the School of Architecture, Building and Civil Engineering at Loughborough University (UK). Monia’s work, rooted in her professional experience in post-disaster reconstruction in Italy, falls at the intersections of architecture, urban planning, disaster studies and heritage studies, and aims at innovating methodologies and tools for effective disaster risk reduction at the urban scale. Alongside her research, Monia is active in disaster risk communication within and outside academia as an author in the online platform ‘Il lavoro culturale’, and collaborates with INGOs (ICCROM ) in support of integrated approach to urban Disaster Risk Management.
